Our Reason

The Big Red Park Foundation exists to help provide young people with opportunities to experience the benefits of youth sports. By supporting and growing youth sports, we hope to create an environment where kids can compete, have fun, build lasting relationships, and become the best versions of themselves — both as athletes and as people.

Our Mission

The Big Red Park Foundation was created with one simple belief: sports have the power to make kids better people. Youth sports are about much more than winning games or learning how to play a sport. They give young people a place to grow, build relationships, challenge themselves, and learn valuable lessons that can stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Through sports, kids learn how to communicate and work together with teammates, coaches, and others around them. They learn that success does not always come easily and that setbacks are a natural part of growth. Learning how to deal with adversity, overcome challenges, and keep working toward a goal helps young athletes develop confidence, determination, and resilience.

Sports also provide young people with opportunities to develop leadership skills. Whether it is encouraging a teammate, taking responsibility when things do not go as planned, or stepping up when others need someone to lead, athletes learn what it means to be a dependable and positive influence. These experiences help shape young people into individuals who can work well with others and take responsibility for their actions.

The lessons learned through youth sports do not stop when the game ends. The ability to communicate, overcome adversity, work as part of a team, and lead others can translate directly into the classroom and eventually into the workplace. Students who learn these skills through athletics can become better classmates, students, coworkers, and future leaders. The habits developed on the field, court, or playing surface can help prepare young people for the challenges they will face throughout their education, careers, and lives.

"Our goal is bigger than sports. Our goal is to help build better people through sports."
